"Aurora and Cephalus" represents both a continuation and a new departure in my work. The subtle use of African fabric motifs is combined with a bold, elemental and highly stylised symbolism. It partly inhabits the world of abstraction and partly the world of figuration but does not entirely belong in either. It is representational, but in a mythic sense; what it represents is a matter for the subconscious, not the conscious, mind.." - Adriana Fabin
